BPMN as a shared language
Editorial and IT teams describe tasks, decisions, parallel steps and approvals in an executable model. SiteFusion links the workflow to its content and products.
SITEFUSION / Camunda
Camunda connects BPMN process models, human tasks and automated services in SiteFusion workflows.

BPMN makes processes visible: tasks, decisions and handovers are modelled together. Camunda executes the defined workflows, connecting editorial approvals and technical production steps in one process.
FOR YOUR IT TEAM
Editorial and IT teams describe tasks, decisions, parallel steps and approvals in an executable model. SiteFusion links the workflow to its content and products.
A workflow can wait for editorial review, call a typesetting service and submit output for approval. Your chosen AI applications can be integrated for your project.
Persisted process state and configured retries support long-running production. A temporarily unavailable service can be called again; business errors follow the modelled exception path.
Process and task data support analysis of progress and waiting times. Stored and analysed history depends on configuration and retention rules.
CAMUNDA 8 · RELEASED FOR SITEFUSION
Camunda 8 is released for SiteFusion. The architecture enables independently scalable job workers for technical tasks. Queues buffer work; retries with backoff and incidents support error handling. Conversion and output can be organised according to workload.
We agree the architecture and integrations with your IT team. Because jobs may be delivered again, connected steps are designed to avoid unintended duplicate effects on retry.
FOR YOUR IT TEAM
Messages are matched by name and correlation value; signals broadcast to matching active signal subscriptions. Order replies need unique references. Recipient scope and tenant boundaries belong in the integration design.
An interrupting boundary event terminates its attached activity. Work already triggered in external systems is not automatically reversed. Cancellation, discarding results and compensating actions need explicit integration logic.
BPMN errors represent modelled failure paths; retries and incidents support technical recovery. Workers must account for repeated delivery. Successful order acceptance is not yet a successful production result.
MarkLogic manages structured content while the process coordinates its processing. Revision references, permissions and recovery from partial failures are designed across systems. A shared transaction across all participating systems is not assumed.
EXPLORE THE CONCEPTS
From translation order to approval: a practical example explains tasks, events and exception paths, with technical detail on correlation, job workers and AI agents.
Understand BPMN in publishingSiteFusion connects the process to content and products. A workflow can wait for editorial review, invoke a renderer and submit the result for approval. Engine version and deployment architecture depend on the specific SiteFusion environment.
A report passes through editing, review and approval. PDF production then starts; a failed run returns to the process for resolution.
