Workflows & automation

Your publishing workflow connects people, systems and AI.

In many publishing teams, content moves between editorial, image acquisition, production and technical services. Who is waiting for whom? Which check is still missing? SiteFusion connects these steps in an executable BPMN process based on Camunda. Tasks, decisions and approvals are linked to their content and product. AI applications and agents also receive a defined role in that workflow.

  • Model tasks, roles and approvals
  • Include corrections and external contributors
  • Track product status and next steps

IN PRACTICE

One shared workflow, from intake to publication.

Tasks in their content context

An editorial step belongs to a specific piece of content or product. The process defines which role performs the work, who reviews it and when the next task begins. Handoffs and responsibilities become part of the workflow.

Integrate technical services and AI

Conversion, image analysis or an AI agent can be connected with editorial tasks. The process determines when a service runs, which data it receives and how its result is processed. Integration is aligned with your systems.

Checks at the right point

A rights-clearance step can precede output, while an AI suggestion can be followed by editorial review. Questions and revisions are modelled as explicit paths, keeping exceptions within the process.

Change services, retain workflows

The business task stays the same even when a different service performs it. With a suitable integration layer, models or agents can be replaced while the task sequence and approvals remain intact. This requires compatible inputs and outputs and validation of the new service.

Example: prepare an image for the next publication

One possible model connects media intake, a check of recorded usage rights, AI-assisted metadata suggestions and editorial approval with output. Missing rights information or an unsuitable AI result follows a defined path for clarification or revision. You define the checks and services for your process.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to fit our workflows into a fixed template?

BPMN models your tasks, decisions and approvals. The relevant roles, content models and integrations are defined together, with implementation shaped by your processes.

What happens when a connected service fails?

Retries, waiting periods and exception paths are configured for the service. Business questions can be routed to a responsible person. These rules are explicitly agreed during implementation.

FOR YOUR IT TEAM

Ready for change. Connected to your content.

Match incoming results

For translation or conversion, a unique order reference connects the reply to the intended production workflow. Language, content revision and processing cycle are part of integration planning.

Design for exceptions

Deadlines, questions and cancellations receive defined paths. A process can interrupt an activity or initiate a parallel resolution step. Handling of external jobs is explicitly agreed.
